Who we are
Upright is made by Upright Labs (“we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Upright app, the website at getupright.app, and buddy texts.
What we collect
Your alarms and settings, the times you completed missions, your streak, and basic device information such as iOS version and app version.
You sign in with Apple only to invite a buddy or move to a new phone. We then receive the name and email address you choose to share, or a private relay address if you hide your email. We never see your password.
What stays on your phone
Camera images, microphone audio, photo-spot pictures and the texts you read aloud are processed on your phone and never leave it. We can’t see them.
Buddies and their numbers
When you invite a buddy we store the name you give them, their phone number or email, the date they said yes, and the dates we contacted them. We don’t upload your contacts.
How we use your data
To run your alarms, send the buddy texts you set up, show your history, keep the service reliable, and answer support requests. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Our text-message and email providers, to deliver buddy messages. Our hosting provider, to store your account. Apple, to process payments. Each may use the data only to provide their service to us.
We never share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
How long we keep it
While your account is active, and for 30 days after you delete it. Buddy records are deleted 30 days after the buddy replies STOP or is removed.
Your rights and choices
You can see, export or delete your data in the app under Settings, Privacy, or by emailing privacy@getupright.app. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, which we honour.
Children
Upright is for people aged 13 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from younger children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
